released, still sounds fresh when you hear it today and still carries a
powerful message about drug use, a Phenomenal record.
The vinyl 12 inch featured an extended cut of the track,
running at over 7 ½ minutes and it packs a punch, on the flip side of the vinyl

(Don't Don't Do It) (Short Version).
The single was released
in 1983 and peaked at number 7 in the UK Singles chart, spending 17
consecutive weeks in the top 40. It was the 13th best-selling single of 1984 in
the UK, selling more than several number one hits that year.
In 1995 Duran Duran recorded a cover version of the
track.........and murdered it!!
